MY FIRST BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD

 

This evening I decided to visit some blogs I am following and while reading  AdaGirl’s  recent post on DIY denim choker and Blogger Recognition Award, I saw my name.  I have visited quiet a couple of blogs and seen this award and a list of bloggers nominated but to see my blog among this list was a shocker being a newbie WordPress blogger. Okay, I am done boring you with my tales. Straight to the point.

Having accepting this nomination, I am to do the following;

1.  Write a post to show the award (ongoing)

      2. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you

      3.  Give a brief history about how you started blogging.

I started blogging or rather put blogging into consideration when a friend of mine started. I talked to my mum about it and she was like “why not?. try doing doing something inclined to your course of study”. I refused and told her I couldn’t. I am a Geophysicists (in the making) and hey, how many females geophysicists do we have besides who wants to be reading about oil exploration all day. Long story short, I started blogging with a friend but it didn’t turn out as expected. Couple of days back I migrated to WordPress from Blogger and here I am.

That’s it!!

        4. Give two pieces of advice for upcoming bloggers.

I can’t believe I am giving advice to upcoming bloggers when I am one myself. Anyways here’s a piece of advice (sorry two pieces)

     a. Be You: Every one has their calling, mine is to a lifestyle and inspirational blogger, some are to be fashion, art, food, gossip bloggers etc. so don’t compare yourself with them. Concentrate on what makes you the most comfortable and happy and stick with it. With time, you’ll love what you do.

     b. Don’t rush it: The most important thing bloggers look out for is audience. Finding this can be very difficult (trust me on that) but remember slow and steady wins the race. Don’t compare yourself with bloggers that have crazy response (I did that). They all started like you, so give it time. You’ll get there.
